London Gallery Weekend is set to return for its third edition from June 2 to June 4, 2023, offering visitors a three-day program of events and exhibitions across the city. It celebrates the city's vibrant gallery scene, fosters community engagement, and provides access to art for all. With its expanded live program, free events, and international collaborations, the event continues to grow and attract a diverse audience of art enthusiasts, professionals, and the general public each year.

This year, London Gallery Weekend has introduced new initiatives to expand its live program and offer more free events, attracting a wider international audience and creating opportunities for artists.

One of the key highlights of the weekend is the performance program, developed in collaboration with public art organization UP Projects. The program features site-specific performance artworks by three selected artists: Nicole Bachmann, Li Hei Di, and Minh-Lan Tran. These performances will take place in different locations across London, allowing the public to experience diverse and exciting forms of contemporary art.

The event will feature over 100 free events, including educational talks, activity workshops for families, guided tours, joint gallery parties, and special events. Visitors will have the chance to participate in artist-led workshops, experience sculptural performances, and attend performances by Musarc, one of the UK's leading choral collectives. Additionally, the event will showcase a wide range of exhibitions across more than 125 participating galleries, featuring established and emerging artists.

To enhance the visitor experience, London Gallery Weekend offers curated routes designed, which you can find here, by notable figures in the art and cultural scene. These routes provide personalized guides to navigate the event and explore different areas of London. In a new initiative this year, Live Curated Routes will be available, allowing visitors to join in-person tours led by dedicated event assistants.

Some personal galleries I recommend visiting are, although they’re not officially participating: the brand new Night Café in Fitzrovia and Pictorum Gallery in Marylebone. Other recommendations are Edel Assanti, Castor, Alison Jacques, Alice Black, Copperfield, Darren Flook, Emalin, Fold, Gathering, Goodman Gallery, Grimm, Grove & Grove East, Guts Gallery, Hannah Barry, Indigo+Madder, Kristin Hjellegrjerde Gallery, Marlborough, Mother's Tankstation, Nicoletti, Patrick Heide Contemporary, Pipeline, Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, Public Gallery, Rose Easton, Sherbet Green, Sim Smith, Soft Opening, South Parade, Studio/Chapple, Tabula Rasa Gallery, The Sunday Painter, Vitrine Fitzrovia, Workplace, Xxijra Hii, and Zéru. i
